Design and landscaping of a garden in Stilton, Cambridgeshire

Project Brief:

The client asked Stuart to design a garden in which they could entertain both adults and children. An existing cabin dominated the garden, which they wanted to retain use of but reduce the dominance of it over the space.

Elements of the Project:

  • Design drawn by Stuart
  • Planting plan to give year-round interest using soft perennials
  • Construction of a large timber gothic arch pergola flowing through the garden and linking the different areas together
  • Construction of a fenced utility area and dog run
  • Building of an outdoor kitchen with granite worktop and bar
  • Construction of a patio dining area and a snug with fibre optic lighting
  • Reshaping of the lawn, edged with matching paving
  • Creation of a children’s play area covered with bark
  • Construction of raised vegetable beds
  • Planting of the plants included within the plan
