The client very much wanted to have a garden where they could entertain and grandchildren still had areas to play. The cabin was already a dominant feature in the garden and so they wanted reduce its impact, but incorporate its use.
A bold timber pergola was designed to flow around the whole area, linking all together and giving a feel of cloister structures. A section was separated for utility purposes and for a dog run, whilst the main area was divided into an outdoor kitchen complete with Granit work top and bar, patio dining, and a snug with fibre optic lighting, to chill out in.
The remaining lawn area was reshaped and edged with matching paving, plus a play bark covered area for the grandchildren’s swings etc.
To finish off, we even incorporated raised vegetable beds around the back of the cabin, so all areas covered.
